Following the release of their critically acclaimed Todd Rundgren produced studio album 'Cause I Sez So, their TV appearance on Later with Jools Holland, and a rapturously reviewed London 100 Club show which sold out in 4 minutes, the New York Dolls have announced three more concerts to their forthcoming UK visit in December 2009. The six new concerts include the Cambridge Junction, Bristol Anson Rooms, Southampton Talking Heads, Leamington Spa Assembly on Tuesday December 8, Liverpool o2 Academy on Wednesday December 9th and the HMV Edinburgh Picture House on Thursday December 10th.
Rock'n'roll icon, guitar genius, interactive progenitor, consummate singer/songwriter and record producer Todd Rundgren, will perform his paradigm shifting 1973 album, A Wizard, a True Star (known to the cognoscenti as AWATS) in its entirety for the first time ever in Britain on Saturday February 6th 2010 at the London HMV Hammersmith Apollo, which will be Todd's only UK performance of the seminal album which is hailed as an influential masterpiece by today's new bands, including Hot Chip.
To celebrate their 40th Anniversary of live touring, GONG, the progressive/psychedelic rock band originally founded in 1967 by Australian musician Daevid Allen will join forces with guitarist Steve Hillage and other core members from the original line-up for a rare UK tour in November 2009. The UK shows will mark the first time Gong have toured the UK since 2000. |
