SYNOPSIS:
FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS
February 1945, even as victory in Europe was finally within reach, the war in the Pacific raged on. One of the most crucial and bloodiest battles of the war was the struggle for the island of Iwo Jima, which culminated with what would become one of the most iconic images in history: five marines and a navy corpsman raising the American flag on Mount Suribachi.

Based on the bestselling book by James Bradley with Ron Powers, FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS tells the story of the three surviving flag raisers, Rene Gagnon (Jesse Bradford) John Bradley (Ryan Phillippe) and Ira Hayes (Adam Beach), who are withdrawn back to civilization to help raise funds for the war effort. Each of the reluctant heroes must come to terms with the honours, exploitation, and grief that they face simply for being in a photograph and the realization that their own contributions to the fight, that so many died for, are only symbolic.

LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA
LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA is the untold story of the Japanese soldiers and their General who desperately defended against the invading American Forces on the island of Iwo Jima. Leading the defence is LT. General Tadamichi Kuribayashi (Ken Watanabe, The Last Samurai) whose travels in America have given him strategic insight into how to take on the vast American armada streaming in from across the Pacific.

The emotional turmoil of both Kuribayashi and the soldiers in the lower ranks are slowly and carefully told.
