On 5th February 2007 Warner Home Video will release The Maltese Falcon Two-Disc Special Edition which has been digitally remastered from restored elements. Made in 1941 this nominee for three Academy Awards – Best Picture, Supporting Actor (Sydney Greenstreet) and Screenplay (Huston) – solidified Bogart’s stardom and launched John Huston’s illustrious directorial career.
An all-star cast (including Sydney Greenstreet, Mary Astor, Peter Lorre and Elisha Cook Jr.) joins Bogart in this classic film noir story about hard-boiled detective Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart) and the gallery of lowlifes who will lie, double cross and murder to obtain a small, jewel-encrusted statue known as The Maltese Falcon. Filled with twists and turns, the crackling mystery masterwork was based on Dashiell Hammett’s novel.
Synopsis

Neither Spade nor Archer believe the woman or the story she tells them, but they do believe her money. Then, when Archer is murdered, Spade's search for the killer drags him in the web of lies and death spun by the desperate people seeking The Maltese Falcon.
