All aboard!!! All aboard!!! This is a final call for children, parents and film fans across the land. After a one year absence from shops, the perennial family favourite The Polar Express will be departing on a DVD journey of a lifetime. Unavailable since Christmas 2005 The Polar Express will be released this festive season for a limited time only so get on board for an adventure this Christmas!

Warner Home Video advises all passengers that this isn’t a typical train journey and all those travelling should be prepared to embark a magical experience of a lifetime. Passengers are also advised to allow extra time for fun and adventure as the many special feature stops en route could add some fun delays!

Described by the Daily Mirror as “more fun than opening your pressies under the tree”, The Polar Express is based on the best selling children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg which has sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

A must-own classic seasonal film saw audiences flock to cinemas last Christmas to enjoy the never-before-seen visual and emotional wonder of the movie. Now the engine is warming up again and film fans across the land will be hoping that The Polar Express makes a stop under their tree this Christmas.

Directed by Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future) and featuring the talents of Academy Award® winning mega star Tom Hanks (Big, Toy Story, Forrest Gump, Castaway) The Polar Express is the first feature film entirely shot using the Performance Capture, an visual effect technique which allows actors’ live action performances to drive the emotions and movements of the digital characters in a way never seen before. It is this technique that allowed Tom Hanks to play 5 roles in the movie the Boy, the Conductor, the Tramp, the Boy’s Dad and Father Christmas, it really has to be seen to be believed!

Seasonal stories are always a huge hit during the festive period and in the tradition of classics like Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman, A Christmas Carol and It’s a Wonderful Life, The Polar Express is set to be a Christmas cracker. The ultimate Christmas gift and a movie that provides the perfect excuse to get the family around the television together during the festive season, The Polar Express is a must own classic holiday themed film that will live through many generations to come.

SYNOPSIS
A young boy lies awake in his room one snowy Christmas Eve, excited and alert. Breathing silently. Hardly moving. Waiting. He's listening for a sound he's afraid he might never hear -- the ringing bells of Santa's sleigh. The time is five minutes to midnight. Suddenly, the boy is startled by a thunderous roar. Clearing the mist from his window he sees the most amazing sight – a gleaming black train rumbles to a stop right in front of his house, the steam from its powerful engine hissing through the night sky and the softly falling snowflakes. The boy rushes outside, clad only in his pajamas and slippers, and is met by the train's conductor who seems to be waiting just for him. "Well, are you coming?" the conductor asks. "Where?" "Why, to the North Pole, of course. This is the Polar Express!"
